What We Support

We are aiming high with a fundraising goal of $1 million over five years (FY08-FY12).

These funds support three initiatives that are very important to our group.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
The Rush Associates Board has made a five-year, $500,000 commitment in support of the leading-edge NICU that will be part of the new hospital. This 40,000 square-foot space will include special delivery rooms, a resource center for expectant parents, an expanded NICU and special care nursery, and private rooms that welcome the entire family.

Research Support for Young Investigators
The Rush Associates Board aims to annually provide two or more $10,000 "thought grants" to promising young investigators, allowing for the development of innovative ideas. This funding is critical to a young physician-scientist looking to fulfill his or her potential in the world of academic medicine. Moreover, such research support creates an environment in which outstanding young physicians and their research projects will flourish, to the benefit of patients here at Rush and beyond.

Rush Community Service Initiatives Program (RCSIP)
The Rush Associates Board has also pledged support for the highest priorities of the various programs administered through the Rush Community Service Initiatives Program, which creates a network of community service programs that match Rush Medical College student interest and initiative with the social and healthcare needs of Chicagoans. This means we will be supporting programs like free clinics for those who are unable to afford or ineligible for medical insurance held throughout the community, including at various homeless shelters; health and wellness education; and tutoring services.
